Former West Virginia head coach Neal Brown to lead North Texas
Former West Virginia head coach Neal Brown has been named the next head coach at North Texas.
Brown spent six seasons leading the Mountaineers and went 37-35 before being relieved of his duties following the end of the 2024 football season.
He spent this past year as the special assistant to the head coach at Texas.
Pete Nakos of On3 initially reported the interest between the two parties.
Prior to his time at West Virginia, Brown led Troy to a 35-16 record in his four seasons.
The Mountaineers were set to owe Brown around $9.5 million in buyout money after his departure, which could be offset by future employment.
