Alabama defensive lineman Khurtiss Perry is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, sources confirmed to BamaOnLine. Matt Zenitz of 247Sports was the first to report the news.

Perry, a redshirt sophomore, is the first Crimson Tide player to transfer following spring practice. Players have 15 days, beginning April 16, to enter the portal in the spring window.

In two years at Alabama, Perry appeared in one game. The 6-foot-2, 265-pound lineman made his college debut in the Tide’s 2023 season opener against Middle Tennessee but did not record any stats. Perry did not play in any games in his first year in 2022 and redshirted.

This spring, Perry worked at a new position, Bandit, in Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack’s 4-2-5 scheme. But now, he will look to continue his college career elsewhere.

Perry was a 4-star recruit in the 2022 class following his high school career at Pike Road. The 66th overall prospect in the cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, the in-state product was considered the fourth-best player in Alabama and the No. 10 defensive lineman.

Perry is now the fourth defensive lineman on Alabama’s 2023-24 roster to transfer, joining fellow reserves Isaiah Hastings, Anquin Barnes and Monkell Goodwine. Following his departure from the room, the Tide will have 14 scholarship linemen for the upcoming fall.
