Alabama Football coach Nick Saban recaps win over LSU

For the second time in three weeks, the Alabama Crimson Tide avenged a loss to an SEC team from a year ago.

On Saturday, Bama defeated the LSU Tigers to improve to 8-1 on the season and a perfect 6-0 in conference play. The Tide and LSU went into halftime tied at 21 apiece, with Alabama pulling away in the second half to win 21-7.

Top recruits from coast to coast made their way to Bryant-Denny Stadium to watch this matchup. One of them was Noah Mikhail, a top-50 overall junior linebacker out of La Verne (Calif.).

“It was an amazing win!” Mikhail told BamaOnLine. “I enjoyed the whole experience down there. I had a lot of fun tonight and they stepped up big time defensively that second half! One of the best fan bases I have seen as well!”

Plenty of in-state prospects were also in attendance for Saturday’s game. That included Anthony Jones, the top-ranked linebacker in the Class of 2026.

“It was loud and electric out there,” Jones said. “The fans were crazy out there. The [defense] definitely stepped up [in the] second half. It stood out to me.”

Alabama hosted commitments from the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes for Saturday’s highly anticipated contest.

Joseph Ionata, one of the Tide’s three offensive line pledges in the 2024 cycle, had the following to say about his experience.

“It’s an unreal atmosphere,” Ionata said. “We just continue to get better every single week. OL really took over and dominated those guys. And Milroe continued to show he is that guy.”

Five-star wide receiver and Class of 2025 Alabama commit Jaime Ffrench was glad to be back at his future home on Saturday.

“Doesn’t surprise me,” Ffrench said of his reaction to the win. “That’s why that’s home!”
