Alabama’s standard piques Jaedon Harmon’s interest

Evaluating the program’s pursuit of Harmon, a lot has transpired over the past four weeks.

Alabama extended an offer to Harmon back on March 21. They became an option for the top-25 linebacker in this recruiting cycle following a visit to the school that same day. That marked Harmon’s third visit to Bama to that point, with the previous one being for a summer camp.

Shortly after checking in with the new staff in Tuscaloosa, Harmon included the Tide in his top 10. This came after landing 17 offers the first three months of the year, including ones from Florida State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Then, on Saturday, Harmon made his way back up to The Capstone for the second time in as many months. Later that night, he announced that he would be making his decision on Sunday afternoon.

Visit returns are still being gathered from A-Day, but it’s safe to say that Harmon was impressed with the Crimson Tide heading into this trip. Harmon said the following about Alabama after landing an offer on his visit last month.

“It’s just Bama,” Harmon previously told BOL. “They have a certain standard that has to be met. I want to go to a place where I’m pushed to be the best version of myself that I can be. I feel like Bama will be a great place to accomplish that.”

If Harmon was to commit to the Tide, then he would be the fifth linebacker to do so in the 2025 class. He’d also be the third linebacker out of Georgia to commit to Bama since March 20, joining Darrell “Duke” Johnson and Luke Metz.

With eight total commitments, Alabama currently checks in at No. 6 in the On3 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings. Some notable schools they’re ahead of include Georgia (No. 7), Texas (No. 8), and Tennessee (No. 15).
