The Alabama Crimson Tide hosted a trio of transfer portal prospects on campus this past weekend. Moments ago, one of them announced his commitment to Nick Saban‘s program.

LT Overton, a defensive line transfer from Texas A&M, committed to the Crimson Tide on Tuesday. Overton’s announcement comes just a day after wrapping up an official visit with Alabama. The former Five-Star Plus+ prospect was also considering South Carolina as he took an official visit with the Gamecocks two weekends ago.

In terms of their high school recruiting efforts, Alabama has landed a pair of commitments at the prep level in the 2024 class. Those were in-state defensive linemen targets Isaia Faga and Jeremiah Beaman. Bama also remains in pursuit of five-star Ohio State commit Eddrick Houston and Canadian-based d-lineman Steve Mboumoua.

Overton lived in the state of Alabama for 10 years. His mother, Eunice Thomas, worked for admissions at the University of Alabama. His father, Milton Overton, worked for athletics at UA.

Coming out of high school, Overton was the No. 12 overall recruit on the On3 Industry Rankings, the No. 4 defensive lineman, and the fourth-ranked player in the state of Georgia. He excelled at Milton High School in Alpharetta (Ga.), where he racked up 286 career tackles and 54 sacks.

LT Overton was originally a Class of 2023 prospect who reclassified up a class in February 2022. In two seasons with the Aggies, he appeared in 21 games, recording 48 tackles and three tackles for loss, as well as one sack.
