Florida Gators move up in new AP Top 25 poll after Week 1 win

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators climbed two spots in the latest Associated Press Poll on Monday following their win over Long Island on Saturday.

After debuting as a top-15 team in the preseason rankings, UF has moved up to No. 13 in the new AP Top 25 after beating the Sharks 55-0 in the opener.

The nation’s new No. 1 team is Ohio State. The defending national champions pulled out a 14-7 win over top-ranked Texas, which dropped to No. 7.

Florida currently has eight teams on its 2025 scheduled that are ranked in the top 25: LSU (3), Georgia (4), Miami (5), Texas (7), Florida State (14), Texas A&M (19), Ole Miss (20) and Tennessee (22).

The 13th-ranked Gators (1-0) are in The Swamp again on Saturday against South Florida. Kickoff is at 4:15 p.m. ET on ESPN+. The Bulls (1-0) had a huge 34-7 win over No. 25 Boise State in Week 1, knocking the Broncos out of the Associated Press rankings.
