Gators name captains for the Texas game

The Florida Gators have named their game captains for Saturday’s matchup at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium against No. 9 Texas. The honor will go to junior defensive backs Jordan Castell and Sharif Denson, along with junior tight end Hayden Hansen.

Castell leads the UF secondary with 17 tackles this season. Denson has 11 tackles.

Meanwhile, Hansen, a Texas native, is tied for second on the team with 15 catches and has 121 receiving yards with a touchdown.

The Gators name different captains each game.

Against Miami, senior punter Tommy Doman, sophomore linebacker Myles Graham and senior center Jake Slaughter were Florida’s captains. Sophomore running back Jadan Baugh, senior kicker Trey Smack, and redshirt senior edge Tyreak Sapp served as the Florida captains for the LSU game.
