GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida quarterback signee Jaden Rashada has not enrolled at the University of Florida for the spring semester, Gators Online has learned. The deadline to add or drop classes was Friday at 11:59 p.m.

Rashada is still in the student directory but has no class schedule or email address. Once Florida’s admissions office closed at 5 p.m. Friday and his status had not changed, the writing was on the wall that his situation would not be resolved (or at least reflected in UF’s system) by midnight.

Missing the deadline for drop/add doesn’t necessarily mean that Rashada won’t or can’t enroll at Florida. If this situation gets straightened out over the weekend, the school’s admissions office could give a waiver to Rashada and allow him to enroll in classes and begin next week.

Rashada was expected to enroll at Florida with 16 other midyear signees on Sunday. He had spent the previous week in Orlando at the Under Armour All-America Game, where he told Gators Online’s Corey Bender that he planned to go directly to Gainesville from Orlando.

While the Rashada family did make it to Gainesville, there was a lot going on behind the scenes regarding Jaden’s NIL deal. As the week dragged on, Rashada and his family ended up leaving Florida and going back home to California. As of 6:00 pm Friday, January 13, Rashada had not enrolled in classes at the University.
