That Alabama-to-Florida State pipeline just keeps on flowing.

After a two-day visit to Tallahassee, former Alabama running back Roydell Williams confirmed on Saturday that he has committed to the Seminoles. He is the third former Crimson Tide player to make that decision during this transfer cycle.

“I feel like I fit pretty well in there,” Williams said of the Florida State offense. “It was an opportunity that he (FSU head coach Mike Norvell) put on the table for me, and I’m ready to take the best position there is for me here.”

The Alabama transfer said he will return to Alabama this week to retrieve his belongings and then come back to Tallahassee for the spring semester.

Williams, who is listed at 5-foot-10, 214 pounds, entered the portal last week after Alabama’s loss to Michigan in the Rose Bowl. According to On3 out of high school, Williams was a four-star recruit. He was also a top-100 player nationally for the class of 2020, as well as the 10th-best running back in the country.

Williams is from Hueytown, Ala., where former Florida State Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston played in high school.

In 2023, Williams had 111 carries for 560 yards and five touchdowns. His longest carry went for 48 yards.

The Crimson Tide also used him as a receiver out of the backfield, where he had 11 receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown.

Florida State already landed former Alabama OL Terrence Ferguson and former Alabama DB Earl Little Jr. through the transfer portal during this cycle.

Williams will join a Florida State backfield that lost Trey Benson to the NFL and backups Rodney Hill and CJ Campbell to transfer.
