BREAKING: FSU lands another big man with commitment of 4-star DL Tico Crittendon

Recruiting could get fun again around Tallahassee if this continues. FSU landed an important target Tuesday as four-star DL Tico Crittendon has announced his commitment to Florida State. From the moment he talked with the media this past weekend, you could sense that FSU made a strong move during Crittendon’s official visit.
“Man I had a great time,” Crittendon said as he wrapped up on campus. “I would say the thing that stood out to me is how they came together. You got some real brotherhood stuff. I remember talking to the guys at my position. This was real love for me.”
Crittendon mentioned conversations with Tennessee transfer DL Jayson Jenkins and several other defensive linemen as weekend highlights.
The big moment in the recruitment seemed to be when the Seminoles’ coaching staff traveled to Lithonia (Ga.) to see Crittendon at school. Crittendon gave FSU a shot and everything else from that point was history.

“He (Mike Norvell) kept it real the whole time,” said Crittendon. “So I said I need to get over there and see what Florida State is talking about. Everywhere on the D Line, I can play it all. Coach (Terrance) Knighton is a great man. He’s got that feeling to him where he knows how to switch it on.”
Michael’s analysis on four-star DL Tico Crittendon
Florida State clearly needed defensive line help from the high school side in the 2026 cycle. So to land a guy that has only taken one visit to FSU is impressive work. He also visited Georgia and a few other schools in the official visit process.
He’s a prospect that can play both EDGE and the defensive tackle position if it’s needed. I would say he’s more of the EDGE type in fitting Tony White’s system but this is a very good start for Florida State this summer to get him in the fold.
