Florida State saw a second member of its 2021 signing class enter the transfer portal on Wednesday as defensive end George Wilson put his name into the hopper so that other schools could contact him.

Wilson, who was a three-star prospect out of high school, showed impressive speed and quickness during his two years in Tallahassee but struggled to put on size. He was listed at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds this season; essentially the same weight he was listed at coming out of high school in Virginia.

Wilson worked primarily on the scout team in both seasons. He did see a total of 15 snaps in three games of mop-up duty this season, according to Pro Football Focus.

Wilson is the second member of Florida State’s 2021 class to enter the portal on Wednesday, joining offensive tackle Rod Orr. Another 2021 classmate, DL Shambre Jackson, left the program earlier and entered the portal this week.

As the transfer portal season heats up, another Florida State Seminole has announced he is transferring out of the program.

FSU redshirt freshman offensive lineman Rod Orr, who signed with the Seminoles in 2021, has elected to enter the transfer portal after two seasons in Tallahassee.

First reported by On3’s Matt Zenitz, Orr entered the portal on Wednesday morning, with three years of eligibility remaining in his collegiate career.

Orr is the third Seminole to enter the transfer portal since it opened to FBS players on Monday, joining linebacker Amari Gainer and senior wideout Keyshawn Helton. Before Monday, a pair of defensive lineman — redshirt junior Jarrett Jackson and redshirt freshman Shambre Jackson — both entered the portal.

Highly touted 2022 signee Sam McCall announced he was leaving the Seminoles with plans to enter the transfer portal late last month following the end of the regular season.

Warchant is keeping a running tally of each of the Seminoles who confirm they are leaving this offseason or coming back for 2023.
