For quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei, the path to FSU has literally spanned across the continental United States. Twice.

A California native, Uiagalelei first made a trip across the country to play his college ball at Clemson. Then after returning from the Eastern to Pacific time zone for a one-year stint at Oregon State, “DJU” traveled to the Southeast once more to play his final college season as a Seminole.

Warchant’s lead football analyst Dominic Robinson charts Uiagalelei’s journey to FSU through All-22 film analysis. In the first installment of a multi-part feature, Robinson breaks down what he saw from Florida State’s new quarterback at Clemson.

Included are breakdowns on:

  • Uiagalelei’s natural strengths and weaknesses.
  • Concepts that fit within and are outside of coach Mike Norvell‘s offense.
  • Uiagalelei as a runner.

“This was probably the most surprise or contrast that I’ve had in terms of my hypothesis going in — what I thought I was going to see — and then kind of what I got going out,” Robinson said of his breakdown.
