FSU has landed a commitment from 2026 four-star wide receiver Brandon Bennett. The six-foot, 165-pound product of American Heritage in Fort Lauderdale becomes the second On3 top 250 prospect in Florida State’s 2026 recruiting class.

On3’s Hayes Fawcett released the news on social media.

Bennett’s decision was predicted earlier in the week with RPM picks logged by On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons.

FIRST REPORT

Florida State made big moves with several recruits who were on campus last weekend for official visits, and the Seminoles landed a commitment from defensive lineman Wihttley Cadeau.

But the prospect who might have generated the most buzz coming out of the weekend was four-star American Heritage wide receiver Brandon Bennett. As mentioned in our Recruiting Wrap from Sunday night, this is a recruitment where Florida State definitely made a strong impression.

On Monday, On3 national analyst Steve Wiltfong logged an expert predication for Florida State to land Bennett, and On3’s Chad Simmons did the same on Tuesday.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Bennett is rated as one of the nation’s top 250 prospects overall, the No. 42 wide receiver in his class and the No. 37 prospect in Florida.

Michael’s analysis on 4-star WR Brandon Bennett

From the time he took a spring unofficial visit, Bennett has been very high on Florida State and the Seminoles’ new offense. While the expectation is that new offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn will place a heavy emphasis on running the ball, Bennett likes how that sets up opportunities in the passing game.

After this official visit, I do feel Florida State is the team leading the charge in this recruitment, and I’m close to placing an RPM pick to join Wiltfong and Simmons.

I personally want to see if there are going to be any other official visits for the four-star receiver. If there are not, I’m confident I will be following these picks and putting one in for the Seminoles.

Along with his feelings for the offense, Bennett also has tight relationships with Florida State receivers coach Tim Harris Jr. and defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain, who is a former head coach at American Heritage.

If Bennett does jump on board with the Seminoles, he’s the type of recruit who could give Florida State some much-needed momentum with other prospects.
