The Florida State men’s basketball team, which is in the midst of overhauling its roster, has landed a commitment from three-star power forward Christian Nitu from Fort Erie International Academy in Toronto, Canada.

Nitu was formerly committed to Indiana State but also reports multiple high-profile offers, including Pittsburgh, TCU, Illinois and Creighton.

According to On3, the 6-foot-11, 200-pound recruit is the 38th-ranked power forward in the 2024 class, as well as the 26th-best recruit in Canada.

This is Florida State’s third commitment of the 2024 recruiting cycle. The other two, point guard Daquan Davis and small forward AJ Swinton, are both among the top 120 recruits, according to On3.

The Seminoles could see up to nine new players take the court next season, including the three freshmen in the 2024 class. FSU saw multiple players enter the transfer portal after the 2023-24 season, including point guard Primo Spears, shooting guard Tom House and forwards Baba Miller and Cam Corhen. Other players have exhausted their eligibility.

Corhen has since committed to Pittsburgh, and, according to KSR’s Jacob Polacheck, Kentucky has contacted Baba Miller.
