Georgia vs Auburn: bulletin board material on The Georgia Show

We talked about the upcoming Georgia vs Auburn game on our midweek episode of ‘The Georgia Show.’ I still don’t really know what to think about it.

Kirby Smart’s Dawgs are either on the brink of returning to their regularly-scheduled hunt, or they’re still trying to remember where the tree stand is.

Injuries are a factor this week.

They usually are by this point in the College Football season.

Perhaps the biggest factor of this year’s game is Auburn’s head coach, Bryan Harsin. The next loss could spell trouble for the Tigers’ head coach.

Is Auburn still motivated to play for a coach whose career is questioned at every turn?

Another new factor: some bulletin board material, courtesy of Auburn center, Brandon Council

Auburn center, Brandon Council, spoke with the media on Wednesday morning.

Georgia players probably knew about this remark by lunch.

“They got some interior stunts (on third down) that kind of hinders the run game, but we’re going to start off fast,” Council said.

“If you start off fast, run the ball on them and keep them out of their third-down packages, really, we could demolish them, I believe personally, up front.”

Not sure I would have gone with that approach, myself.

But the timing may be just what Georgia needed if it lacked any intrinsic motivation to mash its opponent and uphold Kirby Smart’s standard for the program.

DawgsHQ senior editor Jake Rowe and team reporter Palmer Thombs had some things to say, too.
