Indiana offers 2027 five-star wing Bruce Branch

Indiana basketball has extended a scholarship offer to Bruce Branch III, one of the top prospects in the class of 2027.
The 6-foot-7 wing from Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona, received the offer on Monday following a standout performance over the weekend on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Branch, who plays his AAU basketball with the nationally recognized Compton Magic program, impressed Indiana’s coaching staff with a series of strong performances, including a 23-point showing against Indiana Elite on Saturday.
That performance came in front of Indiana coaches and helped solidify his status as a target in the 2027 class for the Hoosiers.
Branch is ranked No. 8 nationally in the 2027 class and the top player in Arizona, according the the On3 Industry Ranking.

In addition to Indiana, Branch holds offers from several major programs, including Arizona State, UCLA, USC, Texas, Virginia, LSU and Tennessee. Indiana also offered his Compton Magic teammate Cameron Williams, a member of the class of 2026, on Monday.

This spring, Branch has been playing up a year with the Compton Magic’s 2026 team, averaging 15.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 54.9% from the field and 42.1% from three-point range. His athleticism, shooting ability, and defensive versatility have made him one of the most sought-after wings in his class.
During his sophomore season at Perry High School, Branch helped lead the Pumas to a 27–2 record and their fourth consecutive state title. He averaged 11.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.
Back in early April, On3’s Jamie Shaw had this to say about Branch’s game:
Branch has a great frame and a lot of natural tools to work with. This weekend, he was a flashes-type, but those flashes were very impressive. He seemed to be most comfortable in this mid-range here as he created advantages a few times in the mid-post areas. He has good length and fluid athleticism, there is a lot of upside here.
Branch becomes one of the earliest scholarship offers in Indiana’s 2027 recruiting efforts as head coach Darian DeVries and his staff continue to build for the future.
