“The biggest thing that stuck out to me about IU was how invested the whole school is,”Karvala told TheHoosier.com. “They showed that to me when I got on campus … how electric it was and how everyone showed out for Indiana was really cool.”
Karvala is a 6-foot-6 wing and is known for his shooting on the perimeter, and ability to get downhill and score at the rim. He averaged 14.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and shot 34.3 percent from three on 2.4 made 3s a game in 15 games for Team Herro this summer on the Nike EYBL circuit. He had seven games where he made at least four 3s.
“A big part I took away from the coaches was their style of play and how they want to use me and get me to the next level,” Karvala said. “Indiana loves to get up a ton of 3s and that fits my style of play. But also, how they would use me in actions where I’m getting to the rim or getting to a pull up (off of screens).”
