Kansas State has scored a commit from the 2023 class in the form of Florida wide receiver Jayce Brown. The Wildcats were his lone Power Five offer, though he has seen increased interest in recent weeks from schools in the ACC.

His verbal pledge comes on the heels of his official visit to K-State over the weekend for the Texas Tech game. He watched as the offense shot out to a fast start over the Red Raiders and hung on for the 37-28 victory in Manhattan.

Brown received his offer from Kansas State in June after a mega camp in the southern portion of the country and the coaching staff maintained contact since that event. Assistants Thad Ward, Joe Klanderman and Brian Anderson liked what they saw from him in the panhandle.

It is a home state recruiting win for Ward, who is originally from Tallahassee, Florida. That happens to be just 165 miles from Brown’s hometown of Fort Walton Beach. Brown is the second Sunshine State native of the cycle, joining running back Joe Jackson.

Brown also held offers from Tulane, Georgia State, Army, Air Force, Navy, Charlotte, Middle Tennessee State and Western Kentucky.

He is commitment No. 19 for K-State in the 2023 cycle. It is also the fifth consecutive year a player from Florida has committed to Kansas State and joins Joshua Youngblood, Kirmari Gainous, Aamaris Brown, RJ Garcia, Josh Hayes.

Brown is added to Andre Davis as the two receivers of the Wildcat group that is highlighted by quarterback Avery Johnson.

The three-star wideout has 13 catches for 244 yards and three touchdowns for Choctawhatchee Academy so far this season.
