While it has been a busy week for Kansas State basketball recruiting, it has been just as busy on the football side. K-State has added its first commitment of the spring transfer window in former Colorado running back Dylan Edwards.

The announcement for Edwards comes on the heels of an official visit to Kansas State. He was in Manhattan at the same time as former Tennessee linebacker Elijah Herring and just after former Utah State running back Davon Booth.

While on his official visit, Edwards was hosted by K-State quarterback Avery Johnson. Remember, the two are very, very close.

Edwards was one of the most sought after players in the transfer portal thus far. The main schools in contact with the Derby native were Ole Miss, UCLA, Texas A&M, Georgia and Nebraska, along with the Wildcats.

His trip to The Little Apple was the only visit he took after entering the transfer portal April 24.

Kansas State was very active in Edwards’ high school recruitment as well. Remember, he was even committed to K-State at one point before flipping his commitment to Notre Dame. While committed to the Fighting Irish, Edwards visited Manhattan for a game before ultimately signing with Colorado.

Edwards had a productive season for the Buffaloes. He tallied 620 yards from scrimmage and five total touchdowns in his true freshman season. The Derby native burst onto the college football scene in his first collegiate game by scoring four touchdowns and racking up 159 scrimmage yards against TCU.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking (a combination of all four recruiting services), Edwards is currently ranked the No. 84 player in the transfer portal. He is also ranked the No. 8 running back in the transfer portal and No. 2 among running backs still available.

He has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
