Texas LB Weston Polk commits to Kansas State
Two months after the first commitment of the 2025 cycle, Kansas State is back on the board. Coppell, Texas linebacker Weston Polk has announced his commitment to K-State.
It came together very quickly between Polk and the Wildcats. Kansas State offered the junior January 29. Shortly after the offer, Polk made his first trip to Manhattan February 3.
His first trip to The Little Apple was a major success and he enjoyed his time meeting the K-State staff. The first visit was such a success that Polk immediately scheduled a visit during the spring for March 19. He was joined on the visit in the spring by Missouri offensive linemen Will Kemna and Lucas Allgeyer and Texas safety Leo Almanza. The Wildcats are in hot pursuit of the other three prospects as well.
A major tip of the hat goes to the Wildcats linebackers coach Steve Stanard. The Kansas State linebacker coach developed a great relationship with the junior linebacker in a short period of time leading to his commitment. Stanard did not just have a great relationship with Polk, but also a strong relationship with the junior linebackers family.
Polk chose K-State over offers from Arkansas State, California, Houston, Iowa State, Oregon State, North Texas, TCU, Tulsa and UTEP. Position is still up in the air for the junior, but he will either play the ‘Will’ or ‘Sam’ linebacker position depending on his future size. It is more of a head to head win for Kansas State over the Horned Frogs. K-State held the lead for a bit, but TCU made a strong push for the junior. However, the Wildcats hung on for his services.
Overall the linebacker is commitment No. 2 for Kansas State in the 2025 class. He joins Missouri quarterback Dillon Duff as the other Wildcat pledge. This past fall the linebacker tallied 80 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, four pass breakups, one forced fumble and scored two touchdowns on fumble recoveries.
