Takeaways
Texas Tech Quarterbacks: The No. 1 and No. 2 Tech quarterbacks are on the report. Will Hammond, the backup, is likely done for the year now after an injury against Oklahoma State. But head coach Joey McGuire confirmed that Behren Morton will return to action and start against Kansas State. Morton has been hurt off and on this season and missed some time after an injury against Kansas.
VJ Payne: If a player is to pop up on the report randomly, you want it to be as probable. But it was still interesting to see the K-State safety make an appearance. But this is K-State at least admitting that Payne isn’t 100%.
Justice Clemons: Clemons has popped up a time or two this season on the report, and was banged up against Kansas last weekend. It even required a stoppage of play and on-field attention. He is clearly battling through nicks and bruises all season, and I would assume, based on that, we see him on Saturday. While Zashon Rich and Donovan McIntosh have claimed the top corner spots, Clemons is the clearly defined third corner on this team. If he were to not be able to go, the Wildcat depth drops down to Amarion Fortenberry and Jayden Rowe. Those two transfers have played a combined 65 defensive snaps this season.
