2024 SEC Win Totals: Kentucky Firmly in the Middle of the Road
It’s the day after the Super Bowl, which kicks off the longest offseason in sports. Sure, there’s spring football in the UFL this March, but that’s insignificant. There are 194 days until the next meaningful football game, a duel in Ireland between Florida State and Georgia Tech in week zero.
What will football fans do in the meantime? Handicap and preview the upcoming season to our heart’s content.
Thanks to our friends at FanDuel, we’re getting a head start. America’s No. 1 sportsbook has released early win totals for the four major conferences ahead of the 2024 college football season.
After consecutive 7-5 regular season campaigns, the folks in Las Vegas believe the Wildcats will keep a similar pace. Kentucky has a win total of 6.5 for the 2024 season. The juice is on the under (-150) with over bettors getting nice odds (+120) if the Cats reach the 7-win mark once again.

Are the Numbers Fair or Foul?
These are preliminary win total numbers. All of them are .5, preventing any pushes from bettors. That is why the juice varies so drastically for Tennessee, whose true number will probably end up being 9. If you want a lock now, just go ahead and take the Under Florida 5.5 wins. There isn’t much value, but a guarantee is a guarantee. Might as well invest now and before Billy Napier runs into a buzzsaw.
As for Kentucky, 6.5 feels about right. There’s a reason why they don’t want you to take the under. Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, and Ole Miss are all on the schedule and three of those games are on the road. To get back to the 7-win threshold, the Cats must win toss-up games at home, something that has not been a guarantee in recent years.
As always, wager responsibly, which means it might be a better idea to wait until after rosters are finalized before making significant investments.
