The accolades keep rolling in for Antonio Reeves and Reed Sheppard. Kentucky’s sharpshooters are among the players on the Associated Press All-SEC teams. Reeves made the First Team, while Reed made the Second Team. Tennessee’s Dalton Knecht won both Player and Newcomer of the Year (the AP lumps freshmen and transfers together) and South Carolina’s Lamont Paris won Coach of the Year.

Reeves was also named Third Team All-American by the Sporting News earlier today and First Team All-SEC by the league’s coaches yesterday. With 20.2 points per game, he is Kentucky’s leading scorer this season and the leading scorer by average of the John Calipari era. He’s scored in double figures in all but one game this season and 20-plus points in 19 games. In two seasons as a Wildcat, he has scored 1,115 points, the third most by a player in a two-year span in program history behind Bill Spivey (1,213) and Oscar Tshiebwe (1,117).

Sheppard was named SEC Freshman of the Year, Second Team All-SEC, and All-SEC Newcomer Team yesterday by the league’s coaches. Now projected by some outlets as the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Sheppard is the only player in the country with at least 75 steals, 140 assists, and 70 made 3-pointers. He leads the country in three-point percentage at 52.6% and is on pace to break Rajon Rondo’s single-season steals record.

Congrats, Reeves and Reed. Many more awards to come.
