In Georgia’s 51-13 drubbing beat down on Saturday, the home team’s offense put on a clinic. Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo‘s unit averaged 8.3 yards per play, posted a ridiculous 60.3 percent success rate, and had 11 plays of gain at least 15 yards. The Bulldogs played championship-caliber offense in Week 6.

The Bulldogs found another gear in the SEC win. Carson Beck was a big reason why Bobo’s offense found that other gear. Beck threw for 389 yards and four touchdowns in the victory. The redshirt junior looked like one of the best quarterbacks in college football on Saturday night.

Let’s take a look back at the tape to see just how Beck and the Bulldogs shredded Brad White’s pass defense on Saturday.

Bad eyes open up the over route

On the first possession of the game, Carson Beck completed his first three passes for 24 and had a third down scramble to extend the drive. With Georgia facing first-and-10 at the Kentucky 40, Beck took advantage of Kentucky’s box safety.

Zion Childress gets caught looking in the backfield thinking that a run play could be occurring after the fake handoff. Instead of getting into his zone drop, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint runs free on an over route to put the Bulldogs up a touchdown early.

This was a sign of things to come.

Kentucky loses Brock Bowers

Kentucky did not handle Georgia’s play-action passing game well on Saturday. The linebackers, safeties, and cornerbacks all played with some bad eyes. You know things are really bad when the best tight end in college football is getting lost in coverage.

On the play fake, outside linebacker Keaten Wade and cornerback Maxwell Hairston both drop to the same zone area. That leads to a wide-open Brock Bowers running up the seam. Carson Beck doesn’t miss the opportunity to hit this explosive.

The end result is a 49-yard gain that turned out to be Georgia’s biggest play of the game. Kentucky did not handle Georgia’s play-action game well, and those fakes ultimately gave Beck some easy throws.

A similar thing happened in the third quarter down in the red zone. Kentucky’s defense played sloppy football on Saturday.

Carson Beck shredded Kentucky with play-action passing throughout the game. Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo obviously saw something on tape. Georgia took advantage of an aggressive Kentucky run defense and hit chunk plays in the passing game due to some poor fundamental football from the Wildcats.

Kentucky faced a quarterback in the zone and helped him by making a ton of mistakes. Georgia doesn’t need much help. They got help on Saturday and it led to a career day for the redshirt junior quarterback.
