After exploring his options out of the portal — one being USC under Eric Musselman — it appears DJ Wagner will be following John Calipari to Arkansas.

According to Richard Davenport of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the former five-star recruit committed to the Razorbacks this weekend, joining Zvonimir Ivisic, Adou Thiero, Boogie Fland, Karter Knox and Billy Richmond among players who would have likely made up the core of Kentucky’s roster in 2024-25 before Coach Cal’s departure.

Now, they’ll all be in Fayetteville with the likes of Calipari, Chin Coleman, Chuck Martin and Brad Calipari, running it back for more of the same from the year before in Lexington.

In Wagner’s lone season with the Wildcats, he started 28 games with 29 total appearances, averaging 9.9 points, 3.3 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game while shooting 40.5% from the field and 29.9% from three.

As a recruit, the former five-star prospect was rated as the No. 7 overall player in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The Camden (NJ) native entered the transfer portal on April 15 just a week following Calipari’s move to Arkansas. Ugonna Onyenso is now the lone player with a decision to make from last year’s roster, Aaron Bradshaw (Ohio State) and Jordan Burks (Georgetown) heading elsewhere while Rob Dillingham, Justin Edwards and Reed Sheppard will enter the NBA Draft.

The other three returnees plus three additional incoming freshmen will be Razorbacks.
