Good morning, friends. Welcome to another late summer Wednesday, one that will probably include a thunderstorm or two. Did you win the Mega Millions? Me neither. No one did, in fact, so we’ll get another chance on Friday when the jackpot climbs to one billion dollars.

When it comes to Kentucky news, we’re in a bit of a lull. Justin Edwards‘ commitment has come and gone, Ugonna Kingsley won’t announce his decision until Monday, and we’re still one week away from Kentucky Football Media Day and two weeks from the Bahamas trip. Alas, the KSR train rolls on. Hop on as we guide you through what’s happening in the UK Sports world and beyond.

Reed Sheppard steals the show in Las Vegas

Last night, future Cats Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham squared off in the Las Vegas Big Time Finale, and it was the Kentucky native who shined the brightest. Sheppard had 16 points, nine rebounds, and four assists to lead Midwest Basketball Club to the 78-67 win over Strive For Greatness, a squad that included Dillingham, five-star SF Mackenzie Mgbako, four-star CG Bronny James, four-star SF Mookie Cook, and four-star SG Wesley Yates.

Sheppard did a little bit of everything, showing off his outside shot, driving the lane, and dishing the ball all over the court. ESPN brought him on for a halftime interview, and at one point he was the No. 15 trending topic in the United States on Twitter. Dillingham finished with 11 points and four assists. Zack Geoghegan has a full recap of the game, or you can check out some of the highlights via ESPN below.

Drake, Kanye, and Lil Wayne all rocking Kentucky Blue soon?

That’s the rumor on the street, according to Jack Pilgrim. Drake may even make an appearance during Kentucky’s trip to the Bahamas.

This 2023 class sure is something.

Football news incoming?

This morning, Matt Jones tweeted that he’s hearing a “relatively prominent” Kentucky Football player will enter the transfer portal soon, but it shouldn’t have a major impact on this year’s squad. We’ll bring you the news when it’s official.

New Oscar Tshiebwe YouTube content

The star of Kentucky’s current team continues to spread the good word. Oscar Tshiebwe uploaded a new video on his YouTube channel yesterday in which he discusses how he uses his relationship with God to grow stronger.

Once Oscar’s basketball days are over, he’s clearly got another career lined up with the church.

Spotted: Ethan Hawke in a Kentucky shirt

What do Adam Sandler, Heath Ledger, and Ethan Hawke have in common? They’re now all members of the “Random Celebrities wearing Kentucky gear” club. Hawke sported this retro design in “The Last Movie Stars,” a CNN Film about Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. Steve Zahn, an avid Kentucky fan, is also in “The Last Movie Stars,” so maybe it’s a gift from him? Either way, I approve.

Aaron Rodgers channeled Con Air at Packers Training Camp

Green Bay’s QB went full Cameron Poe when he pulled up to training camp yesterday.

Never a dull moment with the reigning NFL MVP.

I’ve got uniform envy

Check out Notre Dame’s uniforms for the Shamrock Series game vs. BYU in Las Vegas:

The Fighting Irish also showed off the unis in a spoof of The Hangover featuring Marcus Freeman, Isaiah Foskey, and Michael Mayer.

Trivia returns to KSBar and Grille

Got plans tonight? Matt Jones is hosting trivia at KSBar and Grille, where we’ve got happy hour specials and cash prizes for the winners. Matt wrote the questions himself, so grab some friends and come on out to see if you’ve got what it takes to win. The fun starts at 7 p.m.
