Leonard Miller among top participants at Nike Hoop Summit

The top remaining available prospect in the senior class will participate in the 2022 Nike Hoop Summit on Friday, and Kentucky is in the running. Leonard Miller, a five-star wing out of Canada, is set to compete for the World Team in the head-to-head matchup against the USA Nike Hoop Summit Team.

Miller is rated as the No. 11 recruit in the latest On3 Player Rankings and recently cut his list to ten options, including eight schools and two pro routes. Kentucky joins Oklahoma State, Gonzaga, Auburn, Alabama, Kansas, TCU and Providence among colleges, with the G League Ignite and Overtime Elite also in the running.

The standout wing, who recently grew over six inches, officially measured in at 6’11”, 208 pounds with a wingspan of 7’2″. Only two players stood taller and had a longer wingspan than Miller, who plays primarily on the perimeter.

The Kentucky target was among the top standouts in the event’s practices and scrimmages, which were open to NBA scouts and personnel.

The pro route is seen as the top option for Miller, but Kentucky and Alabama are seen as the top contenders for his services should he decide to go to college.

It will be the first chance Kentucky fans get to see Miller play since John Calipari and Chin Coleman visited him at his school back on March 25 and the Wildcats were included in his list cut on March 30. Miller joins fellow UK targets MacKenzie Mgbako, Matas Buzelis and Omaha Biliew of the World Select Team, all in the class of 2023. The USA Nike Hoop Summit Team is loaded with former Kentucky targets, highlighted by Dereck Lively (Duke), Kyle Filipowski (Duke), Keyonte George (Baylor) and Nick Smith Jr. (Arkansas).

The game, which features the top American high school senior boys facing off against international players 19 and younger, will be live-streamed for free. You can find the game on usabasketball.com and USA Basketball Twitter, as well as nba.com, the NBA App, and the NBA’s YouTube channel and Facebook page starting at 10 p.m. EDT.
