Reed Sheppard isn’t done with his high school career just yet.

On Friday morning, Sheppard was tabbed to the 2023 Boys Kentucky All-Star Team, which he will suit up for in June to take on the Indiana All-Stars. The Kentucky men’s basketball signee out of North Laurel High School headlines the Bluegrass roster, which features the state’s most talented seniors. Players were chosen by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches and the Kentucky All-Star Selection Committee.

The annual Kentucky-Indiana All-Star series (the oldest continuing All-Star Game in the country) includes two games. The first is slated for June 9 at the Owensboro Sports Center and the second for June 10 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Tickets go on sale May 5.

Sheppard, who won Kentucky Mr. Basketball this season, will be joined on the Kentucky All-Star Team by Marcus Eaves (Madisonville North), Crew Gibson (DeSales), Kenyon Goodin (Collins), Jeramiah Israel (Llyod Memorial), Cyr Malonga (Evangel Christian), Jacob Meyer (Covington Holy Cross), Teagan Moore (Owen County), Reece Potter (Lexington Catholic), Gabe Sisk (Ballard), Gerard Thomas (Henderson County), and Chappelle Whitney (Warren Central). The Kentucky boys’ head coach will be Owensboro’s Rod Drake.

Additionally, the 2023 Girls Kentucky All-Star Team was also unveiled. Although no Kentucky commits make up the roster, there is plenty of talent across the board.

Rowan County’s Haven Ford, the 2023 Kentucky Miss Basketball winner, is the headliner. She’s joined by Brianna Byars (George Rogers Clark), Kylee Dennis (Sayre), Emma Filiatreau (Bethlehem), Abby Holtman (Ryle), Whitney Lind (Cooper), Love Mays (Danville), Saniyah Shelton (Bowling Green), Ayden Smiddy (Southwestern), Destiny Thomas (McCracken County), Jakayla Thompson (DuPont Manual), and Meadow Tisdale (Bowling Green). The Kentucky girl’s head coach will be Boyd County’s Pete Fraley.

Both Sheppard and Ford, the latter committed to play at Murray State, will wear the No. 1 jersey for the Kentuckians. Indiana leads the all-time series in both the boys’ (102-44) and girls’ (52-40) games.
