Trevin Wallace is one of the best freshmen in the country, according to On3 Sports. On3 released its Preseason True Freshman All-American Team this morning and Wallace is one of three linebackers on the list.

Wallace ranks No. 41 in On3’s 2021 prospect rankings. The former four-star prospect from Jesup, Ga. is a co-starter at middle linebacker on Kentucky’s Week 1 depth chart alongside Ole Miss transfer Jacquez Jones. On3’s Charles Power believes Wallace could follow in the footsteps of fellow Georgia native Jamin Davis, who was drafted No. 19 by the Washington Football Team in April.

Wallace was a significant senior riser during the fall of 2020. Once committed to Boston College, the south Georgia product put together some strong production and outstanding video. He has verified top-end speed, with a 11.09-second 100-meter time as a sophomore. That transfers to the field, where Wallace is a violent run-and-strike linebacker. Wallace’s ascent has carried over to college and he’s already listed as a co-starter. Former Kentucky linebacker Jamin Davis was a steal out of Georgia and ended up becoming a first-round pick. Is Wallace next?

Yesterday, Mark Stoops mentioned Wallace as one of two freshmen standing out in practice so far.

“I’m super impressed with the two freshmen we brought in, Trevin Wallace and Martez Thrower,” Stoops said on the SEC Teleconference. “Those guys have really caught our eye at inside linebacker so the future is bright for those guys. As talented of guys as we’ve brought in at inside linebacker.”
