Kentucky is rebuilding the Big Blue Wall “brick by brick.”

Retooling the Kentucky offensive line is priority No. 1 for Liam Coen, but exactly does it look like? It started in January when Kenneth Horsey and Eli Cox called a meeting to “re-establish that brand of football.”

“Kentucky has always been hard-nosed, built up front,” Devin Leary said earlier this week. “Those guys made it a point that they’re going to try to work to get back to that brand of football. That was very rewarding to see as a new guy and a quarterback that those guys understood what they needed to take off of film from last year and how much better they’re trying to get for next year.”

The Big Blue Wall is well aware that they fell short of expectations last fall.

“We take a lot of pride in what we do. Last year wasn’t good. Everybody knows that. We’re going to get it fixed,” said Jager Burton. “We’re working everyday to make people proud and build back that wall. We made a saying in the offseason, brick by brick, rebuild the wall. That’s what we’re doing everyday, have as much enthusiasm and excitement to come in here to get better.”

It sounds good, but what exactly is being done to fix Kentucky’s offensive line? After three different position coaches in three years, there’s finally come continuity in the meeting room. Zach Yenser is back for his second season in the Bluegrass alongside GA, and former Wildcat center, Drake Jackson.

The Kentucky offensive line coach brings an intensity to practice everyday. You can see it by going inside Kentucky spring practice for a Mic’d Up feature from Ky Wildcats TV.
