LSU baseball is headed to Hoover, Alabama, as the No. 3 seed this week in the 2025 SEC Tournament. LSU also had seven players receive All-SEC recognition on Monday afternoon in a vote of the league’s 16 head coaches. With the postseason officially underway, the Tigers now turn their attention to chasing an SEC Tournament title.

When and Where to Watch

LSU (42-13, 19-11 SEC) opens its tournament play on Friday, May 23, after earning a double-bye. The Tigers will await either No. 6 seed Auburn (38-17, 17-13), No. 11 seed Mississippi State (34-20, 15-15) or No. 14 seed Texas A&M (28-25, 11-19).

Game time for LSU’s first game is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on Friday, and it will be televised on SEC Network. All games throughout the week will air live on SEC Network, with the SEC Championship Game on Sunday, May 25, airing on ESPN2 at 2 p.m. CT.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • LSU First Game: Friday, May 23

Red-Hot Tigers Enter Tourney on a Tear

LSU enters the SEC Tournament as the No. 1 team in the country according to the three main college baseball polls (D1 Baseball, Baseball America, USA Today Coaches Poll).

“Everybody will be happy — the coaches are happy, the players are happy, the players’ girlfriends are happy,” Johnson told reporters Saturday of the rest the team will now enjoy. “And I’m happy too, because it allows us to get some good work in this week. We’ll take tomorrow off. Monday we’ll have some small group work. We’ve got some pitchers that need to throw to live hitters and some guys that need at-bats, so we’ll play a simulated game. Tuesday and Wednesday morning we’ll have more traditional practices. Then we’ll bus over Wednesday afternoon and practice in Hoover on Thursday. That’s the rough schedule.

“Very proud of the team,” Johnson said. “I think we won seven of the 10 series. I’m not sure how many teams actually did that — I think going into the weekend it was maybe only Texas and Auburn were the other two. Not sure how that changed this weekend, but very proud of that. I mean, it’s hard. That’s what our league is — very difficult. And to be consistent, I thought we dealt with success well. I thought we dealt with adversity well.”

Fans can follow all the action on SEC Network and ESPN platforms throughout the week and of course stick with The Bengal Tiger for all the latest information on the Tigers.
