LSU hosts No. 1 QB Faizon Brandon
2026 Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley four-star quarterback Faizon Brandon started a multi-day visit to LSU on Saturday as the Tigers once again host a top-flight quarterback.
Offensive coordinator Joe Sloan already has the No. 1 overall prospect committed in 2025 with Bryce Underwood. Now, he’s turning his sights on Brandon, On3’s No. 1 signal caller in 2026.
At 6-4, 185, Brandon is ranked as the No. 5 quarterback and No. 46 overall prospect in the country, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 4 overall recruit in the state of North Carolina for next cycle.
Brandon took the opportunity to visit both Alabama, Florida State, NC State and Penn State earlier this spring. As you would expect for a player of his caliber, his offer sheet is stacked with many of the nation’s best programs. In addition to the schools mentioned, his list also includes Georgia, LSU, Michigan, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M and many others. He’ll head to Tennessee April 16.

“I have tried to handle this pretty well,” the LSU target said of handling his recruitment. “I am just trying to build relationships with all of the coaches. It has been a blessing have all of these offers early. I am pretty much trying to take it all in and build relationships to see what I like with coaches and take notes of what I like and don’t like and what I have learned from them.”
Brandon passed for 3,026 yards and 36 touchdowns with just three interceptions as a sophomore last season. He also added 528 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground en route to leading Grimsley to a 13-1 record and an appearance in the North Carolina state semifinals.
