Michigan junior EDGE Josaiah Stewart was a huge transfer portal pickup for the Maize and Blue this offseason. Stewart recorded a Coastal Carolina program record 12.5 sacks in 2021, before contributing 3.5 in 2022. He had a 4-sack game against Georgia Southern two seasons ago, shown below.

Michigan extended an offer to 2026 forward Tristan Reed, the younger brother of U-M sophomore forward Tarris Reed Jr.

More on Reed:

The younger Reed is a 6-8, 210-pound power forward out of St. Louis John Burroughs school. He picked up his first DI offer Saturday from Kansas State, and it didn’t take Michigan long to follow their lead. His brother, of course, contributed last year as a freshman and will be the Wolverines’ starting center this year.

Tristan Reed notched double figure scoring in five games last year for the John Burroughs varsity, including a career-high 12 twice. He’s a post player — he didn’t attempt a three-pointer last season — who finished the last five games of the season 16 of 16 from the floor. He shot 50 percent or better from the floor in 18 of 27 games played.

Episode 3 of ‘Michigan Made’ will feature the Wolverines’ team leaders. Graduate defensive back Mike Sainristil is a returning captain, but at least three others will join him, as elected by their teammates later on in fall camp, which begins Aug. 1.

Quote Of The Day

“The attention to detail from the coaches and the entire staff. I think they spent a lot of time recruiting the families, which I thought was great because we’re going to be together (for a long time). There were 14 other commits on Jacob’s visit so it was about building that family. Michigan spent time talking to us collectively as an incoming class. They also did a great job of driving home important information to the families. The guys have been up there 1,000 times but for the moms, dads and siblings who haven’t seen the campus, classroom and facilities, that was well put together.”
