The Wolverine’s EJ Holland discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Wednesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including the recruitment of Top 100 Burley (Idaho) High wide receiver Gatlin Bair.

Watch and listen to Holland share the latest on U-M recruiting below.

Bair made an official visit to Michigan last month and is now set to announce his commitment in early August.

Right now, Michigan has a 71.9 percent lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. However, both Oregon and Boise State remain very much in play.

“Michigan has the lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine,” Holland said. “He has great connections with the Michigan staff, specifically Ron Bellamy and Jay Harbaugh. He has a great connection with Michigan tight end Colston Loveland as well. Remember, Loveland is also from Idaho, and they share the same high school coach, Cameron Anderson. Bair is a mission kid, and Michigan has experience going through that process with Andrew Gentry. The June official visit went really, really well.

“Now, he is taking a multi-day unofficial visit to Boise State next week. We’re going to track and monitor that. Michigan is the superior program, but Boise State has done a fantastic job of recruiting him and pitching him on staying closer to home. Of course, Oregon is hanging around. With Oregon, you just never know.”

At 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, Bair is ranked as the No. 11 wide receiver and No. 39 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Rankings.

Michigan has 26 commits in its 2024 recruiting class. Of the names in the group are Top 100 Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day quarterback Jadyn Davis, Top 100 Rochester (Mich.)
