NC State Newsstand: How much will Dave Doeren make in bonuses?
NC State’s mid-season turnaround resulted in a five-game winning streak and a third-place finish in the ACC for the Pack, but it also generated more than $100,000 in bonuses for coach Dave Doeren.
First reported by WRAL, the 11th-year coach is in line for at least $175,000 in bonuses for the Wolfpack’s play this fall.
Doeren earned $100,000 for winning nine games, but that could swell to $150,000 for the 10th win if the Pack were to be victorious in its bowl game. The Wolfpack coach will also earn a $50,000 bonus for the team’s finish inside the College Football Playoff’s final Top-25 rankings, which will be released Sunday.
NC State is currently No. 19 in the CFP rankings, and will likely stay put comfortably inside the top-25 to unlock that bonus. Doeren will also receive $25,000 for making a bowl game, but that could improve to $100,000 should the Wolfpack make the Orange Bowl this season.

The bonuses are in addition to the $5,024,390 that Doeren made in his scheduled salary, according to USA Today. He earned $200,000 in bonuses last year.

Quote of the day
NC State freshman wide receiver Kevin Concecpion was named the ACC’s Rookie of the Year and On3’s National True Freshman Offensive Player of the Year this week. Here’s what graduate quarterback Brennan Armstrong thought of Concepcion’s play earlier this year.
“It’s been super impressive,” Armstrong said earlier this season. “I’m super proud of him. You take beatings getting the ball that much, and he’s been staying strong. He’s been a huge asset for our offense. I think he enjoys it, so I think that’s what keeps him going — the next challenge, the next new thing that could be coming at him.”
