Terquavion Smith, the former NC State star guard who put together two electric seasons in Raleigh, recently signed a two-way NBA contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. He made his Summer League debut Monday in Salt Lake City, Utah, and led the team in scoring.

Playing 27 minutes in a narrow 94-92 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Smith racked up 18 points on 6 of 16 shooting from the field. The guard also attempted 10 three-point field goals, hitting 4, and he dished out 3 assists, grabbed 1 rebound, turned the ball over twice and committed 3 personal fouls.

The former Wolfpack star started the game for Philadelphia alongside former Arkansas guard Ricky Council IV, who is from Durham, North Carolina, and also signed a two-way deal with the Sixers.

During the 2022-2023 season with NC State, Smith recorded 17.9 points, 4.1 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game and shot 38 percent from the field, 33.6 percent from deep and 70.1 percent from the line. He started all 34 games for the Pack and also led the program in steals with 49.

While on a two-way NBA contract, Smith can be active for at most 50 games with Philadelphia, and he will spend the rest of the season with the franchise’s G League affiliate— The Delaware Blue Coats. The guard’s next summer league game is scheduled for Wednesday, July 5, at 9 p.m. EST against the Utah Jazz.
