Nebraska Football turns the page to 2025 recruiting, Matt Rhule's spring discipline plan

On the eve of the 2024 February national signing day, 2025 Oklahoma City Moore wide receiver CJ Simon announced he is decommitting from Nebraska.

The 6-foot-1, 160-pound Moore picked the Big Red over Kansas and Oklahoma State back on Dec. 2. He is regarded as one of the top wide receivers in Oklahoma for the class of 2025.

Simon announced his decommitment from the Huskers on social media.

“After careful consideration, prayers, and conversations with my family, I have decided to announce that I will be decommiting from the University of Nebraska,” Simon said. “I would like to thank the coaches and staff for giving me an opportunity. My recruitment is now open.”

As a junior, Simon had 54 catches for 784 yards and 10 touchdowns, with 262 yards rushing and two touchdowns on the ground.

Simon was last in Lincoln for the Huskers’ Jan. 20 Junior Day recruiting event. He visited the Huskers four times over the process, including twice last April, along with the home opener against Northern Illinois on Sept. 16.

Nebraska now has three commitments in its class of 2025 – all from the state of Nebraska. The Huskers also remain in on several top 2025 wide receiver names across the country.
