Joshua Manning had a little bit of an unconventional visit. He arrived on campus at Nebraska a little later and got to hang around until Monday as a result. He got the best of both worlds though having a chance hang with the other recruits on Saturday and got their own visit on Sunday when everyone left.

“We stayed a little later today to watch a little bit of the workout,” Manning said.  “We didn’t get there until Saturday around 2:00 because my dad had to work.”

Manning’s schedule included being with the rest of the visitors on Saturday. On Sunday he got to see a lot of things that he hadn’t seen before in Lincoln on his personal tour.

“We got in there for the meetings on Saturday and joined the rest of the visitors. On Sunday we really had our own schedule because everyone left.

“We got to see the academic stuff on Sunday which we have never done before. We loved it. I toured the campus, the dorms, a little more of the facilities and I loved it.”

Manning was hosted by a couple of Husker players. He also hung out with a couple of other wide receiver recruits and even went to watch one of them participate in a camp on Sunday.

“My host was Ernest Hausmann and Gabe Ervin. I also hung out with Omarion Miller and Malachi Coleman. Malachi came back for the 7 on 7 camp and I went to watch him do that.”

ICYMI – There are 13 official visitors in Lincoln this weekend! Here is the visitor preview for June 3rd.

On Monday there was a chance to sit down with Nebraska head coach Scott Frost. The conversation was very straight forward according to Manning.

“Coach Frost knows that he wants me there at Nebraska,” Manning said. “He knows what I can do and knows I can help.”

Manning hasn’t given much thought yet to which team is on top since Nebraska was his first official visit.

“There really isn’t anything set yet because Nebraska was my first official. They are up there though.”

One of the things in Nebraska’s favor has been the recruiting attention that Manning has been getting from the Huskers. They have put a heavyweight combo of coaches on Manning to recruit him.

“I am getting recruited by coach Busch and coach Joseph. They worked together at LSU and they are close. I have a good relationship with both of them.”

There are four more official visits set for Manning. He says that following his last visit possibly in July he will be ready to make his commitment announcement.

“I am planning on visiting Kansas State, Iowa State, Arkansas and Missouri,” Manning said. “I would probably be looking at making a decision in July or after my last official visit.”
