Nebraska lands commitment from RB Kwinten Ives

Kwinten Ives from Beverly (N.J.) Palmyra was a new name for Nebraska fans since Matt Rhule came to Lincoln. The 6-foot-3 and 180-pound Ives was receiving attention before Nebraska offered as either a running back or a wide receiver. The Huskers see Ives playing as a running back.
A week ago, Ives was on an official visit to Monmouth and this weekend he was in Lincoln checking out Nebraska. The tall and athletic running back had thoughts that going into the trip to Nebraska that he would commit the the Huskers.

Ives picked up an offer from Nebraska on November 29th just three days after the news that Matt Rhule was the new head coach at Nebraska. Ives said that Nebraska’s running backs coach, E.J. Barthel, was recruiting him at UConn before joining Rhule in Nebraska.
Ives is the 13th known commitment for the 2023 class for Nebraska. Rhule and his staff hosted 16 official visitors during this past official visit weekend in Lincoln.
During Ives’ senior season, he ran for 1,617 yards and 29 touchdowns in nine games.
