Nebraska picked to win the Big Ten despite Dani Busboom Kelly's first year

Nebraska volleyball is the preseason favorite to win the Big Ten conference. The Big Ten and Husker Nation have high hopes for first-year head coach Dani Busboom Kelly.
Busboom Kelly took over after long-time Husker head coach John Cook retired. She was Louisville’s head coach for seven seasons before returning to Nebraska, her home state and alma mater. With the Cardinals, she reached three Final Fours and two national title matches.
NU has won two straight Big Ten titles. Penn State and the Huskers shared the Big Ten title in 2024. The Nittany Lions are the preseason No. 2 team in the conference.

Penn State opposite Kennedy Martin and setter Izzy Starck were also unanimous selections. Nebraska led the Big Ten with four picks on the preseason team.
Jackson was a 2024 unanimous First Team All-Big Ten pick and an AVCA First-Team All-American. Murray is a two-time All-Big Ten First Team selection. The outside hitter was a second-team AVCA All-American pick in 2024 and a third-team selection in 2023.
Reilly is the first player in conference history to win the Big Ten Setter of the Year in her first two seasons with Nebraska volleyball. She is a two-time second-team All-American. Allick is coming off one of her best offensive seasons yet.
Jackson, Murray, and Reilly were also selected on the AVCA Player of the Year Watchlist.
