Nebraska true freshman receiver Crawford suffers major knee injury in preseason camp

Now in the late stages of preseason camp, Nebraska has suffered its share of bumps and bruises.
There’s also a major injury to report.
True freshman receiver Decoldest Crawford “is going to be out for an extended period of time with a knee injury,” Nebraska coach Scott Frost announced Saturday.
Crawford, a 6-foot, 180-pounder from Shreveport, Louisiana, suffered the injury during last Saturday’s scrimmage.
“It was the only major injury we got,” Frost said. “Felt terrible for him, but he’ll come back strong.”

Crawford arrived at Nebraska after a standout career for Green Oaks High School in Louisiana, where he had nearly 150 catches and more than 2,200 receiving yards. As a senior, he caught 30 passes for more than 200 yards, as the Giants started a freshman quarterback.
Crawford caught 50 passes for 813 yards and six touchdowns as a junior.
Crawford was a consensus three-star prospect who was ranked among the top 20 players in Louisiana and the top 80 receivers in the country by Rivals. A former LSU commit, he chose Nebraska over Auburn, Texas and Florida after re-opening his recruitment.
