Top-ranked Nebraska volleyball (14-0, 4-0) handled Rutgers (10-6, 1-3), sweeping the Scarlet Knights (25-17, 25-15, 25-16) one night after dismantling defending national champion Penn State in Happy Valley.

Around 8,000 fans took in the match at Jersey Mikes Arena, a record in the state of New Jersey.

Dani Busboom Kelly used this game as an opportunity to mix up the lineup. Manaia Ogbechie started in place of Rebekah Allick and Laney Choboy started at libero. Ogbechie had five kills and a .500 hitting percentage in the match, but her defense was the star of the show. The freshman middle blocker recorded an astounding eight blocks.

“She’s fantastic. She’s so fast off the ground,” Busboom Kelly said on the Huskers Radio Network postgame. “She’s a great blocker. Every single time we’ve played her, she’s delivered.”

The Huskers’ defense was the focal point in the victory. Nebraska limited Rutgers to a .061 match hitting percentage and forced them into 26 hitting errors, while recording 14 blocks in the match.

Nebraska’s offensive attack recorded a .390 hitting percentage in the match. Harper Murray led the team with 11 kills.
