No. 5 Recruiting Class Gets Stronger: 4-Star WR Jabari Watkins Chooses Nebraska

Nebraska has started strong with the 2027 class. The Huskers currently have the No. 5 ranked class in the country, and it just got better. Nebraska has recently added four-star wide receiver Jabari Watkins from Thomasville (Ga.) Thomas County Central to the class. Watkins is the No. 332 recruit and the No. 43 wide receiver in the nation according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.
Jabari Watkins is adding his name alongside quarterback Trae Taylor, offensive tackle Matt Erickson, and safety Tory Pittman III in the 2027 recruiting class for Nebraska. The Huskers made the final four list for Watkins on September 22 which also included Cal, Illinois, and Florida State.

Watkins has had a strong start this season for Thomas County Central. In five games, he has collected 20 receptions for 280 yards, averaging 14 yards per catch, and has scored seven touchdowns. He has contributed to his team’s flawless 5-0 record.
Watkins had over 20 offers when he chose Nebraska and had recently visited Illinois during their game against Indiana. Illinois might have been considered the top school for Watkins after the visit, despite Indiana beating Illinois.
