Newsstand: Former Notre Dame OL Mike McGlinchey to join Denver Broncos

News broke Monday that San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Mike McGlinchey, a former first-round NFL Draft pick in 2018 out of Notre Dame, is on the move and will join the Denver Broncos, reported the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
“He’s going to the Denver Broncos on a five-year, 87.5 million dollar deal,” Rapoport said on NFL Network. “He gets more than 50 million dollars guaranteed. This is fascinating for the Broncos, because [quarterback] Russell Wilson couldn’t get protected at all last year. They’re [the Broncos] are making sure that’s not an issue again.”
McGlinchey played in a total of 69 career games with the 49ers, though he didn’t play full campaigns in either 2019 or 2021. A knee injury partially derailed his 2019 campaign, while a torn quadriceps muscle limited him in 2021.
