Newsstand: Notre Dame has flipped six recruits in the 2023 class

Notre Dame completed another flip of a recruit Thursday. Frisco (Texas) Reedy three-star wide receiver Kaleb Smith announced a commitment to the Irish about a month after he backed off his Texas Tech pledge.
Heโs the sixth member of Notre Dameโs 2023 class that was previously committed elsewhere and the third to join since Nov. 22.
Smith, three-star offensive lineman Chris Terek (Wisconsin), four-star quarterback Kenny Minchey (Pittsburgh), four-star running back Dylan Edwards (Kansas State), three-star defensive end Armel Mukam (Stanford) and four-star defensive tackle Boubacar Traore (Boston College) are the players in the class who were once committed to another team.
The Irish could add another before Dec. 21 signing day. Bogart (Ga.) North Oconee three-star athlete Khalil Barnes, a former Wake Forest commitment, took an official visit Nov. 5.

On the other side, four recruits have left Notre Dameโs 2023 class: four-star running back Sedrick Irvin Jr., four-star offensive tackle Elijah Paige, five-star defensive end Keon Keeley and four-star cornerback Justyn Rhett. Irvin later committed to Stanford. Paige and Rhett picked USC and Georgia shortly after their respective decommitments. Keeley remains uncommitted.

Quote of the Day
โSmith has a pretty well-rounded skill set at receiver. He had a very good senior year and looks to be a โstock-upโ prospect. Itโs not surprising in seeing how heโs played this fall that Notre Dame has come after him at this late stage of the cycle.โ
