Buckeyes offensive signees stats from storied high school careers

COLUMBUS — Ohio State signed 11 offensive prospects on Wednesday to put a bow on an impressive top-five recruiting class.

Lettermen Row has gathered the top stats from each of their storied high school careers and put them in one organized place. Let’s see those stats.

Buckeyes QB signee

Air Noland: He completed 66.5 percent of his passes for 2,140 yards and 22 touchdown passes and 9 interceptions as a senior. During his junior year, however, Noland threw for 4,095 yards and 55 touchdown passes, winning a state title at Langston Hughes High School in Georgia. He was the state runner up at quarterback as a sophomore.

Ohio State wide receiver signees

Jeremiah Smith: He won three straight state titles at Chaminade-Modonna Prep High School while hauling in more than 1,000 yards in each of his final two years. He caught 88 passes for 1,376 yards and 19 touchdowns as a senior after having 1,098 yards and 20 receiving touchdowns as a junior. All of that helped him become the top-ranked player in the country for his recruiting class.

Mylan Graham: Graham followed up a junior season in which he had 48 catches for 1,149 yards and 13 touchdown grabs with a senior season in which he had 39 receptions for 566 yards and 6 touchdowns despite suffering injuries that held him back. But his skillset and stats still made him a five-star prospect.

Ohio State running back signees

James Peoples: The four-star running back’s junior season was historic; he had 208 carries for 2,044 yards and 31 rushing touchdowns. His senior stats were not available, and he missed some of the season with an injury.

Sam Williams-Dixon: The in-state running back wasn’t able to put together an entire senior season due to transfer rules in the state of Ohio, but he still posted impressive numbers a a junior: almost 1,300 rushing yards and 41 rushing touchdowns. He played in just five games as a senior.

Tight end signees

Damarion Witten: The talented Cleveland native had five passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns in a win in the state title game last month. He had a successful career at Cleveland Glenville High School.

Max LeBlanc: The Canadian transferred to The Baylor School for his final two seasons of high school. He had 39 catches for 695 yards and three touchdowns as a junior.

Other noteworthy stats

+ Ohio State four-star offensive line signee Ian Moore helped New Palestine (Ind.) High School average 254.8 rushing yards per game. He’s a road-grating offensive lineman.

+ Buckeyes offensive line signees Deontae and Devontae Armstrong, twins, won a state title at Lakewood St. Edward High School in Northeast Ohio. They were pillars of the offensive line at St. Edward that averaged more than 200 yards rushing per game in the postseason.
