Luke Wypler ‘had a good week,’ has been practicing for Buckeyes

Ohio State center Luke Wypler has had his status up in the air all week after the season-opening win over Notre Dame.

The Buckeyes have capable backup centers and contingency options, but coach Ryan Day said Thursday that they might not need those backup plans Saturday afternoon against Arkansas State. Wypler has been in practice all week, according to Day.

“He’s had a good week,” Day said of Wypler. “He has been practicing, so we should be good there. We’ll continue to evaluate him.”

If Wypler is good to go, the Ohio State offensive line will be ready to prove itself with its top five linemen for the second straight week.

Previewing Buckeyes Week Two game against Arkansas State

The Buckeyes are prepping for the Red Wolves inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center all week after taking down No. 8 Notre Dame last Saturday in the season opener. But the folks in Jonesboro aren’t going to sit around and just let the Buckeyes beat them badly without giving Ohio State its best shot.

Lettermen Row’s Spencer Holbrook is joined this time by Mitchell Gladstone, who covers the Red Wolves for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, to break down how Arkansas State stacks up against the Buckeyes, the new transfers Butch Jones has brought in to that program and who to watch out for on Saturday afternoon.

How ready is the Ohio State defense to have a second-straight dominant outing? Will Arkansas State present any problems to the Buckeyes this weekend in Columbus? What are the expectations for this Saturday afternoon inside Ohio Stadium? Spencer from Lettermen Row and Mitchell from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette break it all down.

Ohio State hoops releases conference slate

The Ohio State basketball program now has its entire 2022-23 schedule completed.

The Buckeyes released their Big Ten Conference schedule Thursday afternoon which features plenty of good games and it all starts in December.

Ohio State has known about its complete nonconference schedule for a few months now, and that will come with its own challenges. But once conference play gets underway it’s almost a completely new season for coach Chris Holtman and company.

The Buckeyes first Big Ten game of the season takes place on Dec. 8 when they host Rutgers in the Schottenstein Center. Ohio State then has nearly a month before it plays its next conference opponent on New Year’s Day in Evanston, Illinois, against Northwestern.
