COLUMBUS — Ohio State, off the heels of a solid and successful recruiting weekend, is at it again on the trail.

Three-star Cocoa (Fla) wide receiver Jayvan Boggs has committed to the Buckeyes. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound wide receiver chose Ohio State over a number of programs including Florida, UCF, USF, Penn State and more.

Boggs is the No. 48 wide receiver and No. 338 overall prospect according to the On3 Industry Rankings. Those numbers slide to No. 57 and unranked overall according to On3.

“What really made me commit was the relationships I created with Coach Ryan Day, Coach Brian Hartline and coach Devin Jordan,” Boggs told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. “When I went up there it felt like a second home to me honestly! I feel coach Hartline can help me get to where I wanna be at the next level and be a first-round pick like Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Chris Olave and many more.

“Coach Hartline really made it known that I’m a top priority for them and that he wants me to be their first 2025 wide receiver commit. There’s no better opportunity than to join WRU and to keep the tradition going!”

His relationship with the coaching staff and their plan for him stood out as well.

“I’m closest with coach Hartline, coach Day, and coach Jordan,” Boggs said. “Coach Hartline says I remind him a lot of Jaxon Smith-Njigba and will be used similar to how he was used when he was there!”

Boggs is the second offensive prospect committed to the Buckeyes’ 2025 recruiting class. He joins four-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback Tavien St. Clair.

Wide Receiver U.

Jayvan Boggs is another impressive commit to a long and growing list for wide receiver coach and offensive coordinator Brian Hartline.

The former Buckeye wide receiver is routinely one of the best on the recruiting trail and it stems from relationships to development to NFL readiness. He has Boggs in the fold already for 2025. In the 2024 class five-star duo Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham lead the way along with high four-star Jeremiah McClellan.

Carnell Tate, Brandon Inniss, Noah Rogers and Bryson Rodgers highlight an important and impressive 2023 class that is already seeing time in a crowded wide receiver room.

This is only the beginning for the Buckeyes in the 2025 cycle. They just hosted priority wide receiver target in Savannah (Ga) Calvary Day wideout Edward Coleman.

Ohio State has struck early in the week on the recruiting trail. Jayvan Boggs has committed to the Buckeyes.
