OU head coach Porter Moser isn’t going to be thrilled about everything, but a win is a win in college basketball.

It wasn’t dominant or impressive. But it’s a victory, and the Sooners will take it. Oklahoma finally put away visiting Central Arkansas 88-72 on Thursday night at Lloyd Noble Center.

Favored by more than 30 points, OU simply didn’t bring its best against a team that came in at 3-10. It was 71-66 with seven minutes left before the Sooners were able to put the game away.

Game 12 Takeaways

*You knew emotion might be a tough one. Coming off a loss. Playing in front of an incredibly sparse crowd on the same night as the Alamo Bowl. You got the win, now figure it out and get back to who you were the first month of the season.

*Javian McCollum came out firing. He needs to for this team to execute. He scored 18 of his 23 points in the first half. He has to be a scorer or facilitator, and McCollum was the scorer OU needed initially.

*That’s a little bit more like it for Jalon Moore. So athletic but can sometimes take himself out of the game. Moore brought it with 12 points, nine rebounds and two blocks.

*All Sam Godwin does is get offensive rebounds. OK, not entirely true, but another solid effort in that regard. Godwin had 14 points, seven rebounds (four offensive).

*Otega Oweh had another solid outing with 16 points. His improvement with his control continues to shine.

*Alarm bells? Los Uzan is having too many off nights. In 29 minutes, three points and just four shots. That’s going to have to change.

*Up next? OU has one more non-conference home game. Monmouth comes to LNC on New Year’s Eve. Another tough environment to get up for, but that’s what you have to do.
