2024 On3 Consensus four-star QB Walker White will be in Oxford on Saturday. Here's what you need to know
2024 Little Rock Christian Academy (Ark.) quarterback Walker White has had Ole Miss on his mind long before Lane Kiffin offered him in December. Since the offer was extended, the 6-foot-3, 215 pound prospect has been eyeing a trip to Oxford.
On Saturday, he will make the drive over to Mississippi to check out the Ole Miss campus and the football facilities.
“I love Ole Miss,” White said back in February. “I love watching their offense…it’s a different OC now but coach (Lane) Kiffin uses the RPO. I think that’s what I am really good at.”
In 2021, White threw for 2,010 yards and 23 touchdowns and added 487 yards and five touchdowns on the ground as well. Earlier this month, the rising junior put his skills on display at the Nashville Elite 11 regional.
The No. 176 overall prospect was arguably one of the more impressive underclassmen at the quarterback competition last week. Before he gets back to the Natural State to start preparations for his junior season, he will take a closer look at the program showing him the most interest right now.
“Coach (Dane) Stevens talks to me almost every day. I also have a call every week with coach (Charlie) Weis,” White said. “Since I have been getting to know the coaches, they are all really chill and they know what they’re doing. Very educated on the game of football, really smart. The campus is beautiful.”
“The offense is so creative,” White said. “I love coach (Lane) Kiffin and everything he does and the culture he has built there.”
Sources tell the OMSpirit the Rebels are in a “great spot” with the No. 1-ranked prospect in Arkansas in the 2024 class. The well-built signal caller has a solid base underneath him and a throwing stroke which drew praise from several national analysts and instructors at the Elite 11 regional.
As a sophomore, White was instrumental in Little Rock Christian finishing with a 10-3 record and making an Arkansas Class 5A semifinal appearance. Now, he tells OMSpirit he wants to focus more on getting his program back there and then some.
“I’m ready to start doing a lot of work with my guys at Little Rock Christian Academy,” White said. “We just finished spring ball and had our spring game. Now we are getting ready for 7-on-7 camps and team camps.”
White went on to give a loose timeline of when he wants to make a decision and why.
“It’s important for other prospects in my class to see which quarterback is going where so they can make their decisions.”
Ole Miss is currently the favorite for White, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) at 40.7%. Mississippi State is in second at 35.6% followed by Arkansas at 2.8%.
White has an On3 NIL Valuation of $19k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date; it rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
